Beta testing of ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server has reached its final stage when ESET announced that the Release Candidate is available for testing. This means the product is almost in its definitive version, and intensive testing prior to market release will follow.

The Windows 7 logo program aims to help customers make better purchase decisions by identifying products via the “Compatible with Windows 7” logo that have passed Microsoft Corp.-designed tests for compatibility and reliability with Windows 7.

Analysis of ESET’s ThreatSense.Net®, a sophisticated malware reporting and tracking system, shows that the highest number of detections this month, with almost 9.90% of the total, was scored by the Win32/Conficker class of threat.

ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, today announced that it has captured a record 60th VB100 award from Virus Bulletin, the widely-respected independent comparative testing group. February’s report focused on the Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 platform. Of the nine vendors participating, six passed and three failed. Neither Symantec nor McAfee were able to provide products supporting the platform.

Win32/PSW.OnLineGames is the top threat in Poland (15,06%), Slovakia (9,92%), France (8,87%) and Latvia (7,03%), while Win32/Skintrim is the most spreading malware in Italy for the month of December with a share of 10,56%. It is a family of trojans that downloads and executes arbitrary files. In the wild, they have been observed downloading variants of the Win32/Wintrim Family.
