“Microsoft Exchange is not installed“ message appears during installation of ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server.

During the installation of ESET Mail Security the “Microsoft Exchange is not installed“ message appears. This error message may display even if you have Microsoft Exchange installed on your system. This situation may occur:
The ESET Mail Security Installer evaluates this particular system status as if no Microsoft Exchange installation were present and ends the installation process with an error message. The simple solution of this problem is to add the following entry into the Registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Setup] "NewestBuild"=dword:0000298f
Warning: This should be realized only by an experienced user/administrator. One incorrect change in the Registry can leave your programs or system inoperable. The issue of incorrect evaluation of your system status by ESET Mail Security will be removed in the next version of ESET Mail Security. Until then, please use the temporary solution described above.
