What are the NOD32 for Novell Netware modules and how do they work?

NOD32 Server Edition Novell Netware provides centralized protection for Novell Netware server versions 5.x and 6.x . It consists of three NLM modules, NOD32.NLM (the on-demand scanner), AMON.NLM (the on-access scanner) and NOD32UPD.NLM (update module).

 

AMON.NLM module (the on-access scanner)

  • Provides automatic and permanent control of all access to existing files on server
  • Monitors the process of creation of all new files and scans them for viruses
  • Generates detailed log file with on module AMON activities
  • Warning messages on incidents can be sent to network administrators
  • Warning message can also be sent to predefined network users

 

NOD32.NLM module - the on-demand scanner

  • Module is executed on the server and can scan all server volumes
  • Command-line interface
  • Cleans viruses
  • Supports archives (ZIP, RAR, ARJ, LZH and LHA) including self-extracting files
  • Based on the same technology used in the Windows version

 

NOD32UPD.NLM module (update module)

  • Automatic virus signature database updates for NOD32.NLM and AMON.NLM modules without reboot
  • Update is downloaded from NOD32 mirror server on the same server.
