DMON is an additional layer of protection for MS Office documents and ActiveX elements downloaded from the Internet. DMON works only with applications that support the MS Antivirus API interface, such as Microsoft Office 2000 (version 9.0 and higher), or Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 5.0 and higher).

If you have AMON and IMON enabled, it is not crucial to keep DMON enabled as well.
