Win32/Stration still remains the most widespread threat expanded by e-mails. Alike Win32/Nuwar worm is updated regularly and mass e-mailed as an attachment. Different downloaders are often distributed the same way, especially Trojan horses on target computers in order to get to sensitive information. ANI Exploit still remains the most misused threat.

Europe Stricken by a Spam-distributing Trojan
The Trojan is used for spam distribution and can be controlled remotely. To infiltrate a user’s computer, Win32/Lethic.AA probably piggybacks on another malware (malicious software) or is downloaded into the user’s computer by an already present malware. The main purpose of this Trojan is turning the infected computer into a component of a powerful bot for dissemination of unsolicited e-mail. To avoid being detected, its programming code is embedded in the 'explorer.exe' file. (16.03.2010)

Win32/Agent stealing personal data on the rise; Conficker still No. 1 Threat
Win32/Conficker is the most widespread computer threat in the world with a share of 9,62% of all detected forms of malware. The data si based on ThreatSense.Net®, ESET’s in-the-cloud malware detection system collecting data from users of ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

Conficker is the topmost threat in Europe together with Ursnif spyware application and infected-web trojan

ESET: First Company to 60 VB100 Awards
ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, today announced that it has captured a record 60th VB100 award from Virus Bulletin, the widely-respected independent comparative testing group. February’s report focused on the Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 platform. Of the nine vendors participating, six passed and three failed. Neither Symantec nor McAfee were able to provide products supporting the platform. (February 4, 2010)
