Win32/Stration still remains the most widespread threat expanded by e-mails. Alike Win32/Nuwar worm is updated regularly and mass e-mailed as an attachment. Different downloaders are often distributed the same way, especially Trojan horses on target computers in order to get to sensitive information. ANI Exploit still remains the most misused threat.

Conficker is the topmost threat in Europe together with Ursnif spyware application and infected-web trojan
Analysis of ESET’s ThreatSense.Net®, a sophisticated malware reporting and tracking system, shows that the highest number of detections this month, with almost 9.90% of the total, was scored by the Win32/Conficker class of threat. (February 8, 2010)

ESET: First Company to 60 VB100 Awards
ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, today announced that it has captured a record 60th VB100 award from Virus Bulletin, the widely-respected independent comparative testing group. February’s report focused on the Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 platform. Of the nine vendors participating, six passed and three failed. Neither Symantec nor McAfee were able to provide products supporting the platform. (February 4, 2010)

Computers Worldwide Targetted by a MBR Worm
It is a type of threat that overwrites MBR (Master Boot Record) of all available drives with its own data, making the data stored on the user’s computer inaccessible. Moreover, the restoration of the corrupted data is complicated, requiring specialized software or a provider. (January 22, 2010)
